Services for Mattie Rawls O'Brien, widow of A.E. O'Brien, former Memphis druggist, will be held at 2:30 this afternoon at Cosmopolitan Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park. An invalid for 12 years, Mrs. O'Brien died at 4:30 yesterday morning at Sneed Nursing Home in Whitehaven. She was 84. Mrs. O'Brien was born in Terry, Miss., but had lived in Memphis since 1912. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church, and until her illness, was active in church work. She leaves a son, Luther Rawls O'Brien, and a grandson, Luther Morris O'Brien, both of 129 North Waldran. (Published in The Commercial Appeal, Memphis, TN, on August 30, 1947)
