Dorothy Elizabeth "Doris" Anderson, 86, of Chester and previously of Overlea, Md. died of ovarian cancer Oct. 19 at Hospice Center of Queen Anne's County.

Mrs. Anderson was born May 10, 1922, in Baltimore to the late Andrew J. Rassa and Anna Holdorf. She attended Kenwood High School and cosmetology school.

During WWII, she worked at Glenn L. Martin as a "Rosie the Riveter."

She was a charter member of Estate Treasures, which is part of Hospice of Queen Anne's County, where she volunteered for 16 years. She played bridge regularly at the Kent Island Yacht Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Anderson, who at one time was elected Baltimore County Executive; three brothers, Joseph, Charles, and Milton Rassa; two sisters, Mary Catherine Brown and Anna Sparr; and one grandson.

Survivors include one daughter, Mindy Voelker of Kent Island; one son, David Anderson of Millersville; one sister, Margaret Caldwell of Middle River; one brother William Rassa of Joppa; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
