Charles Milton Scott Sr., 76, of Waycross, passed away late Saturday evening, October 18, 2008, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Born in Pierce County, he had lived in Pierce and Ware counties all of his life. He had worked as a male attendant at Satilla Regional Medical Center and was a US Air Force veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was of the Baptist faith and loved to fish.

He was a son of the late Thomas Reddick Sr. and Tilla Gray Scott and was also preceded in death by two brothers, James Marion Scott and Thomas Reddick Scott Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Hickox Scott, Waycross; a son, Charles M. Scott Jr., Waycross; a step-daughter, Deborah (Ralph) Barnard, Blackshear; two step-sons, Jimmy (Christine) Merchant, Dryden, ME and William Merchant, Waycross; a sister, Mildred Scott Melton, Blackshear; a brother, Joseph D. Scott, Savannah; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will take place from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.

Interment will follow in the New Home Cemetery.
