2nd Wife was Susan Atwood of New Hampshire. She remarried to Aaron Smith in June 1874.

Joshua and Susan had one child: Alla Florence Bromley, born 1861; died in Boston 22 Oct 1894 leaving no known children.

From the book entitled The History and Map of Danby, Vermont, page 312:

"Lieut. Joshua Bromley, son of Hiram Bromley, enlisted for three years in the 5th New Hampshire regiment, being among the first to respond. He was killed in the battle of Cold Harbor, Va. in June 1864. He was a native of this town, and always lived here more or less, until within a few years, previous to the war. He was a man of intelligence and a brave officer, possessing the highest esteem of his men." The "Lieut." designation may have been an error.

Another FindaGrave record exists as his family erected a stone in Dorset, VT. See memorial number: 54876939
