Clarence Kenneth Gleason, 93, of Heritage Manor, formerly of 1617 Bies St., died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at Heritage Manor.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hoffmann Schneider and Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
He was born on Aug. 2, 1911, in Greeley,
Iowa, son of Clarence LeRoy and Maude
Gertrude (Smothers) Gleason.
He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School and attended the former Bayless Business College, Dubuque.
He married Florence Elizabeth Ludwig on May 25, 1946, in Kokomo,
Ind.; she preceded him in death in October 1999.
Mr. Gleason was employed by the U.S. Civil Service, and served in the Navy during World War 11.
He was a member of Grand View United Methodist Church, the American Legion, Dubuque Post 6 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He also was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth L. Gleason, of Kissimmee, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Edith Schoenthal; and three brothers, Gilbert, Paul and Robert.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the WW II Memorial, Washington D.C.
