The following notes were added by a grandson of Grace's older sister Vera (Nussman) Oller, and great nephew of Grace and Vern Ford:

Aunt Grace and Uncle Vern both were born and raised in Montgomery County, Illinois. After they married, they moved to Madison County where Vern was a construction worker and home builder. He built the home on Bender Street in Rosewood Heights, Illinois where he and Grace lived for more than 30 years. In their younger days Vern owned a motorcycle. He and Grace traveled extensively throughout the area on that motorcycle.

Aunt Grace was a sweet loving woman and Uncle Vern was a lot of fun to be around. Vern was an avid fisherman and loved to go whenever he had a chance. Although they had no children, they were very highly respected and loved by their many nieces and nephews.

We lived on a farm in Christian County in the 1950's and 1960's. Each summer Grace and Vern would come to spend a few days on the farm during their vacation. We always looked forward to their visits. Mother was close to Aunt Grace so she enjoyed having someone other than Dad, my younger brother and I to talk to. Since Uncle Vern loved to fish, my brother Tom and I went along with him. He could keep us entertained for hours by his many stories and tales.
