Stephen Samuel Knight son of Thomas Knight Jr. and his wife Philadelphia "Delphia" Ryan Knight. Stephen Samuel married first, January 30, 1870, in Rhea county, Sarah Catherine Hicks daughter of Joseph and Mary Jane Ferguson Hicks. Sarah died before 1880 possibly just after the birth of her last child, Sarah gave Stephen five children in eight years and she is the mother of James Knight. Stephen Samuel married next, February 9, 1880, Mary Jane Hicks, Sarah's sister, Mary Jane gave Stephen Samuel two children and she died before 1884. Stephen Samuel married next Texas A M Harris, I believe they might have divorced. Stephen Samuel married last, February 1, 1891, Lydia, the widow of William Fagg. Lydia gave Stephen Samuel one child. He was buried March 31, 1924.

A record with the United States Patent Office shows that Stephen applied for and was granted a patent for a fence. The record bears his signature.
