Melissa Anne Van Druff, daughter of Joshua and Mary Van Druff, was born at Valley Falls, Kansas on September 12, 1872 and passed away Saturday, November 29, 1947, at the Roanoke Nursing Home in Kansas City, Mo. at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 17 days.
She was married to Elmer Marion Van Druff on February 14, 1894 and for many years they lived in Kansas City, later moving to the farm home at the top of the hill just east of Valley Falls. In recent years they moved to McLouth and, as Mrs. Van Druff had been in ill health for a number of years, they moved to the nursing home in Kansas City where Mr. Van Druff's health failed. He passed away May, 1947.
Mrs. Van Druff was a faithful member of the Gleaners class of the Methodist church while they lived here, having her membership later in the Methodist church at McLouth. She was also a member of the Valley Falls Chapter O.E.S.
