Robert 'Goose' W. Broglin
Robert "Goose" W. Broglin, 90, of Cordova, went to be with Jesus Thursday, March 6, 2008. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home with burial in Union Chapel Cemetery. Rev. J.B. Thompson and Rev. Mark Lockhart will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. today. Kilgore-Green Funeral Home will direct.
He was born May 19, 1917, in Adamsville. Married in 1938. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1936 at the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. He served proudly in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked at the cotton mill and the steel plant in Cordova. He was custodian at Cordova Elementary School and Corinth Baptist Church where he was a devoted member. His great love of the Smoky Mountains drew him often on visits with Bug or Kaye.
He passed on to be in Heaven with his beloved wife of 56 years, Lois "Bug"; infant daughter, Nellie Faye and precious son, Billy Hugh; mother, father, sisters, brother and other relatives.
He lived a wonderful life and will be greatly missed by his surviving daughters, Kaye Broglin and Judy Broglin; granddaughter and personal nurse, Tracy Kilpatrick and other grandchildren, Tiffany and Cory Vintson, Cindy Mason and Barry Broglin; precious great-grandchildren, Kayden Kilpatrick, Kynslee Roper, Payton Vintson, Zack and Sarah Mason; and his many friends and relatives.
