Elizabeth Price Was born near Xenia, Ohio on September 7, 1818. She came to Illinois in 1826 with her parents, George and Jane Price. They settled in Sangamon County, Illinois, near what was known as Irish Grove (which is near New Salem). They moved to Tazewell County, Illinois (to Circleville) in 1832. This was the time of the 'Deep Snow'. This is where she later married William Fleming Bishop on October 20, 1836. Elizabeth and William resided at the home place, two miles west of the town of Groveland. Elizabeth was afflicted with dropsy of the heart which resulted in her death on May 13, 1893 at the age of 74. She was buried in Craft Cemetary three miles east of Pekin, Illinois.

Her Grandfather Price had come from Germany about 1800 settling in Ohio.
