Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Blane Elmer Hendricks, 80, passed away quietly at his home Thursday, August 28, 2008.
He was born May 13, 1928, in Hibbard, Idaho, to James Elmer and Blanche Hanks Hendricks. He married Corine Hinckley, the love of his life, on July 25, 1951, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
His life was a testament of hard work and dedication to the gospel, family and friends. He will be remembered in the hearts of many as a man who lived life to the fullest and who was a friend and mentor to many.
Blane worked in the masonry business for 50 years. He always had a large livestock operation and raised Corriente cattle and Quarter horses. He trained horses and enjoyed team roping. Blane was presented the Outstanding Conservation Farmer award in 1979. He was inducted into the Horsemen's Hall of Fame in 1999. He was a member of the Federal Land Band board for 10 years.
As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Blane served in the East Central States Mission from 1948 to 1950. He and Corine served a mission together in the West Virginia Charleston Mission in 1994. Blane was a High Priest, Home Teacher, served as the Seventies President, was a Bishop at Ricks College, and served on the High Council. His energy and testimony blessed the lives of many, particularly the youth he served.
Blane's greatest accomplishment and loves were his wife, his children, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Corine. He is also survived by his children, of Rexburg, of Draper, Utah, of Orem, Utah, of Springville, Utah, of Murray, Utah, and of St. George, Utah.
