Aunt Oley was born in Peel, Arkansas to L.T. and Mary Jane Livesay McPherson. She was sister to my Grandmother Gertrude McPherson Hudson. Her Brothers and sisters were Johnny James (died as an infant),Augustus(Gus),Edwin(Ed),Maggie Fish Martin Gammon,Clara Belle(Bell)Hodge,Sarah Anne(Ann)Lawhon,Nellie Ben Campbell,William Paul(Willie),Mose, Gertrude Hudson,and John Lee.

On Dec. 24,1896 she married John W.(Will)McGowne and together they had 12 children. Her children were: Vence(died as an infant),James Ambrose,Mary Bell Sharp,Elendor Welch,Dorothy (Dottie) (died at age 14), Maggie (Hanner)Tannehill,John (Johnie)(died at age 10),Myrtle(died at age 7),Bud (Buddie), Velma Weaver Patton,Allene Reed, and John William II(Pete).
