WATERLOO - Terry D. Dewater, 51, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Oct. 5, at Allen Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born Dec. 26, 1956, in Waterloo, son of Keith and Pearl Thorpe Dewater. He married Debra McChane, and they later divorced.
Mr. Dewater graduated from Waterloo East High School and served in the U.S. Army.
Survived by: a son, Cody of Des Moines; a daughter, Jennifer Dewater of Waterloo; his mother of Evansdale; four brothers, Charles (Linda) of Michigan, James (Nancy) of Florida, Richard of Evansdale and Gary (Kathy) of Waterloo; and three sisters, Kathy (Don) Stone of Waterloo, Ann (Gary) Laue of Arizona and Cheryl (Pat) Helgeson of Minnesota.
Preceded in death by: his father.
Memorial services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted by Becker-Chapman Post 138 American Legion and Waterloo Post 1623 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
