Karl H. Manwaring, age 72, died April 29, 1994 at LDS Hospital, Salt Lake City.

He was born February 18, 1922 in Vernal, Utah, son of Arthur and Mary Hullinger Manwaring.

He served in the U.S. Army active duty, during World War II, retiring as a major.

He married Betty Mealer on June 30, 1971, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He was a graduate of the University of Utah in 1952 and received his Master's of Education in 1962, University of Utah. He was an educator in the Davis County School District for 29 years serving as teacher and elementary school principal.

Served as bishop for nine years in the East 20th Ward, Ensign Stake, Salt Lake City; served in many callings in the LDS Church. He most recently served as High Priest Group Leader in the Kimball Mill Ward.

For the past three years he has served as president of the Tourette Syndrome Association, Salt Lake Chapter.

Preceded in death by sister, Iris Epperson, two brothers, Howard and Everett.

Survived by his wife and twin daughters, Kara and Marisa, sons, Howard K. (Laura) and Paul C. and daughters, Christina (John W.) Huish, Patricia (Cary) Wood, Deanne (Jeff) Mohomed, Sandra (John) McCarthy and threee stepchildren, Mari (Jeffrey) Kirkham, Carrie McGregor and Gavin R. McGregor; sister, Enid (Robert) Burton; 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 4, 1994 at 11 a.m. in the Kimball Mill Ward Chapel, 650 South 200 East. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Wednesday at the church, 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.

Interment in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
