Gwendolyn Steinhilber died October 6, 2008 at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal, Illinois. She was born in La Clede, Illinois a daughter of George and Vera Myers Adams.

She married Alfred L. Steinhilber on Jan. 18, 1946. He passed away on Sept. 6, 1989.

Survivors include two daughters, Kay (Gary) Uftring and Lisa Marie Steinhilber; one son, Peter D. Steinhilber; one brother, Terry (Laurine) Adams; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Bill Steinhilber; two sisters, Patsy and Eveyn and one brother, Donald.

Gwendolyn worked as an LPN at the Minonk nursing home and was a private home nurse.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Minonk. She worked for the Democratic Committee.

Gwendolyn also collected and restored antiques and was an antique dealer.
