Kathy Marrie King, 59, of DeLand, Fla., formerly of Edinburgh, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at her home.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Apostolic Tabernacle Church in Edinburgh, with the Rev. Mark Myers officiating. Calling will be from noon until service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at West Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

Arrangements were made by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home at Edinburgh.

Survivors include daughters, Karen (Thad) Elder of Beech Grove, Kasey (Ken) Nestor of DeLand and Kristy (Buddy) Brittingham of Morehead City, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; brothers, Calvin, Johnie and Donald Barker, both of Edinburgh, Marvin Barker of McEwen, Tenn. and Orlie Barker of Pensacola, Fla.; and a sister, Sally Barker, McMinnville, Tenn.

Kathy Marrie King, 59, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008. She was a resident of De Land, Fla., and a former resident of Edinburgh.

She was born May 6, 1949, to the late Arthur Lee and Ollie Mae (Burton) Barker.

Survivors include three daughters, Karen (Thad) Elder of Beech Grove, Kasey (Ken) Nestor of De Land and Kristy (Buddy) Brittingham of Morehead City, N.C.; 12 grandchildren, Loreal, Blake, Emily and Braxton Elder of Beech Grove, Michael, Kelsay, Wyatt and Kristen Nestor of De Land and Haley, Dana, Ansley, Lexi and Nathaniel Brittingham of Morehead City, N.C.; five brothers, Calvin, Johnie and Donald Barker of Edinburgh, Marvin Barker of McEwen, Tenn., Orlie Barker of Pensacola, Fla.; and a sister, Sally Barker of McMinnville, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Verlon and Arlon Barker; and three sisters, Delcie Branigan, Velma Keller and Verda Lovett.

She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in De Land.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family. She was always on the go and was considered the best mom in the world by her children. She was considered their best friend.

The Rev. Mark Myers will conduct a funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Apostolic Tabernacle Church, 701 S. Main St., Edinburgh. Friends may call from noon until service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
