ALTUS — William "Bill" Eugene Grimes, 65, of Altus died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, in Van Buren. He retired as an Army Sergeant and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was the recipient of several commendation medals, was a member of the VFW and was a Pentecostal.

Funeral will be 4 p.m. Wednesday in Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel of Ozark with burial at Liberty Cemetery of Altus.

He is survived by two stepsons, Bo Holder and Marlen Holder, both of Altus; two sisters, Ruby Spencer of Ratcliff and Jane Gourley of Fort Smith; and two brothers, Ray and Jessie, both of Fort Smith.

Pallbearers will be Tim, Chris and Kevin Grimes, Terry Masingale and David and Jerry Howe.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Nurses of Crawford Healthcare and Rehab Center.
