Billye Jo (Morton) Bronson 84, peacefully passed on to the other side Tuesday, September 23, 2008, from complications of aging. She was born on March 15, 1924, in Friona, Palmer, Texas, to Bill and Stella Morton.
Billye was the oldest of six children and was raised in Texas. She was a true Texan all of her life.
She married Mack Freeman in Hereford, Texas. They had three children: Ted, Sandy, and Jane. She was a devoted wife and mother. They relocated to South Dakota early on in their marriage and ranched for many happy and adventurous years.
Later Billye became employed as a merchandise buyer and spent many exciting years, traveling, buying, and selling for a large company with many stores. She not only loved this demanding and exciting work, she made life long friends.
The time resided in Utah were good years for Billye. She loved being a full time grandma, and was a natural at it. She Would spend hours doing and going and pleasing these lucky grands.
She was thrilled to be called on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in Ohio and had many wonderful experiences and memories. Several years later she also served a mission in Cove Fort.
She and Wilmer Bronson were sealed in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple in 1997. They were able to spend a few very happy years together. They traveled and visited and enjoyed many friendships. They especially loved working in their yard beautifying it with flowers and planting agarden. Wilmer passed away in October of 2003. Billye has missed Wilmer very much.
She had many talents and shared them with everyone. She was a published writer; who loved writing and did so all her life.
Billye leaves behind her children, Ted (Dianne) Freeman, and Jane (Keith) Hubbard; sisters, Bettye, Edye, and Lee; nine grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive her.
Awaiting her arrival with open arms will be Wilmer; her parents; a daughter; a sister; a brother; a grandson; and two nephews. Many others will join the arrival gathering with thankful hearts for all the work and years of research she did to keep the family links together. She gathered information, kept records, and wrote stories of her ancestors, all with love. Genealogy was a labor of love for her.
She lived her dreams, fulfilled her hopes and always kept the faith. She was known by all for her compassion, commitment, and love. Today we have gently folded one generation into the next. We will miss her so very much.
Funeral services were held Saturday September 27, 2008 at the Fillmore 2nd ward at 11:00 a.m. Interment was in the Fillmore City Cemetery, Under the direction of Olpin Funeral Home.
