Funeral Services Held Saturday for Mrs. Christ Johnson, Arco.

Funeral services for Mrs. Christ Johnsen of Arco, who passed away very suddenly last Thursday morning as the result of a heart attack were held at the home in Arco and Diamond Lake Danish Lutheran church on Saturday afternoon, Rev. W.A. Bloom and Rev. Harald Ibsen conducted the services.

Anna Nilson Norup was born in Denmark, at Mors, February 1869. She came to America in ealry womanhood, and on December 31, 1896 she became the bride of Christ Johnsen, who preceded her in death August 18, 1938. The young couple resided in Iowa for a time, coming to Lincoln County in 1900 to reside on a farm in Ash Lake

Mrs. Johnsen as a quiet home-loving woman, devoted to her family and friends, and was also a faithful church member. Rev. Ibsen spoke in her native tounge at the funeral, paying tribute to her faithful adherence to her church through all her lifetime.

Surviving are her thirteen children; Mrs Dorothea Johnsen, Andrew L., Christian and Clara Johnsen, all of Arco; Mrs. Carl Martens, Hendricks; Nels of Ivanhoe; Henry of lake Benton; Mrs. Anton Sorensen, Valley City, N.D.; Mrs. Leo Pochardt, Ghent; Mrs Sig. Vick, Elkton; Mrs. Lee Rhinesmith of Waukesha, Wisconsin. One sister, Mrs. Christine Rhode of Clinton, Ia., was unable to attend the services because of ill health. Six sons-in-law of the deceased served as pallbearers.

Out of town relatives attending were Mr. and Mrs P.K. Petersen; Mrs. Fred Jensen, Leone Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Jensen, all of Tyler; the John Petersen family, Mr. and Mrs Frank Herschberger and nephew, all of Ruthton; Mrs. Anton Sorensen of Valley City, N.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Williamsen and family of St. James; Mr. and Mrs. Lee Rhinesmith of Waukesha, Wisconsin.

CARD OF THANKS

We whall never be able to express the extreme gratitude which we have for our neighbors and friends who were so generous with their thoughtful acts and kind expressions of sympathy during the brief illness and death of our beloved mother. To repay in words what has been done for us is impossible, but we want each of you to know that we are grateful from the bottom of our hearts. The floral offerings the spiritual boquets and the genuiene sympathy shown us is thefore thankfully acknowleged because it was shown for our mother. And for that we shall be gratefull to you forever
