Edward Jasper and Alice Collins DeVane were married on 5 October 1882. ( Alice was a daughter of Enoch Collins, Sr. and Temperance Collins.) They are the parents of 10 children:

From 1907 to 1913, Edward served as a member of the County Board of Commissioners of Plant City, Fla. He was a member of the Mt. Enon Primitive Baptist Church and was ordained to preach in the late 1890's. He was a Real Estate Developer and Citrus grower.
