Born in Wilmington, December 19, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Elijah Adams and Helen F. Applewhite Bell. She was married to Orin Jackson Buck, November 17, 1929 in Marion, SC. He died in Wilmington on January 9, 1985.
Mrs. Buck was a long time member of Pearsall Memorial Presbyterian Church. She had worked at J.C. Penny�s on Front St. from 1946 to 1973. She served with the Salvation Army Auxiliary for over 25 years.
Her husband, parents, and sister, Geneva R. Allender, and brother, E. Cranmer Bell, preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frederick (Betty) Grieger of Knoxville, TN and Mrs. Frank W. (Fay) Richens of Echo, Utah, three sons, Durward J. (Billie Fay) Buck of Winter Haven, FL, Gerald �Jerry� R. (Ginny) Buck of High Springs, FL, George N. (Dana) Buck of Elizabethton, TN, 24 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, and a brother, James C. Bell of Las Vegas, NV.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 2, 2004, at Pearsall Memorial Presbyterian Church by Rev. June Highfill. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park
The family will receive friends in the Church fellowship hall from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service.
Pallbearers will be Elders of the Church. Honorary pallbearers will be: sons, sons-in-law, and grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pearsall Memorial Presbyterian Church, 3902 Market St., Wilmington, NC 28403.
