GREENSBORO — Mrs. Girlie Brewer, 85, of Brice Street, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 3, 2008.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 6, at Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Daniels and Dr. Ron Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Westminster Gardens.
Mrs. Brewer was a member of Faith Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday school class, and she sang in the choir. She was a retired supervisor for Industries of the Blind with 22 years of service. She loved gardening, flowers and sewing.
Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by a son, Alton Brewer, and a grandson, Tony Smith.
Mrs. Brewer is survived by her husband of 65 years, James S. Brewer; sons, Dean Brewer of Greensboro and Carl Smith and wife, Bobbie, of Sophia; grandchildren, DeDe, Larry Dwayne, Ray, Debbie, Kevin, Dena, Jimmy and Sonya; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
