Avie A. Gabbard, 86, of Fort Smith died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, in Fort Smith. He was the widower of Anna Ruth Gabbard. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the American Legion and an Army veteran of World War II.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by a son, Richard Gabbard of Cedarville; a daughter, Sheila King of Rudy; two stepdaughters, Emma Ramirez of San Antonio and Shirley Hacker of Fort Smith; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Cal McClure, David King, Randy Gabbard, Bubba Garrett, and David and Mitch Hacker.
