Graveside services for Charles Wesley Corel Jr., 82, Baldwin, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.

Mr. Corel died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born Aug. 10, 1923, in Lawrence, the son of Charles Wesley Sr. and Jetty Meadows Corel. He grew up in Lawrence and graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1942. He lived in California and returned to Lawrence in 1947 before he moved to rural Baldwin in 1952.

Mr. Corel served in the U.S. Navy. He was a carpenter for BA Green and was also a farmer.

He married Opal Murray in 1945, in California. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, David, Baldwin, and Dale, Elk Grove Village, Ill.; a daughter, Sandra Climer, Baldwin; a brother, Glenn, Lawrence; a sister, Bonnie Herlbrink, Oklahoma; and five grandchildren.
