Died of Trichinosos(sic). From the Columbus Republican.
Omer, son of Merritt Ardery, who resides in Clifty Township, this county, died of trichinosos(sic) at his father's residence on Friday last. The boy, who was but ten years of age, had eaten some uncooked pork sausage while his parents were making the same. In about five days the disease which caused his death set in. The muscles, limbs and body of the boy became swollen and very rigid, and during his entire sickness, which lasted about 21 days, he suffered intense pain. The boy remained conscious to the last, and many of the best physicians of this county were called in consultation in this case, and all agreed that trichinosos(sic) was the cause of his death. This is the first case of this kind that has ever been reported in this county.
