Cleo Beck Shepherd, 79, passed away on October 7, 2008 at the American Fork Hospital in American Fork, Utah after a courageous battle with Cancer. She resided at 33 North Main Street in Alpine, Utah at the time of her death.
She was born October 19, 1928 in Alpine, Utah, the second of eight children of Leland and Verland Grace Healy Beck. She married Vernon Evan Shepherd on September 27, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Vernon passed away on January 12, 2003. She graduated from American Fork High School. She was an active member of the Mountainville 2nd Ward, serving in many positions in Sunday School, Primary, MIA, and Relief Society. She also served in the PTA as vice-president and president.
She is survived by her children: Juanita Hughs (Jim), Elko, NV; Scott Vernon Shepherd (Shannon), American Fork; Becky Lee Walker (Joseph), Pleasant Grove; Angie Maldonado (Chip), Alpine; Jon Jerold Shepherd (Debbie), Provo; 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rea, LaRene, Kathleen, Deanna, Cheryl, ReNae, and brother Ross Beck. Preceded in death by her husband and her daughter, Julie Lois Hunter, American Fork.
Funeral Services for Cleo will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Mountainville 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, 165 North 100 East, Alpine, Utah. Family and friends may call on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah and at an additional viewing at the Church on Tuesday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services.
Interment will take place in the Alpine City Cemetery.
