Emil Paarmann, 78, well-known citizen of Stockton, Ia., died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in his home following an illness of six months.

Mr. Paarmann was councilman at the time of death. Before his retirement 15 years ago, he was manager of the Stockton Elevator Co., for many years.

He was born Jan. 19, 1874, in Davenport, where he attended school and married Augustana (should be Augusta) Moeller in 1906. She died in 1923. Mr. Paarmann lived most of his life in Stockton.

His survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Lansing Wolf, Morris, Ill., and Mrs. Vincent E. Waldorf, Davenport, and four sons, Lester, Mabelvale, Ark.; Hector (should be Victor), Concord, Calif.; Eugene, Oakland, Calif., and Marvin, Bettendorf, and 14 grandchildren. A son, Raymond, preceded him in death.

The body is at the Runge mortuary where services are pending.
