Aldene had one son, Jim, who was put up for immediately put up for, and in February, 1962, he was "trial-adopted" by Henri and Ann Cowger. The adoption was finalized, and he was the son of Ann Longshore Cowger and Henri Eugene Cowger in May, 1963.

Before the adoption, Aldene was married to Jerry Austin (b 9/22/1939). They had been married 18 months, and had just moved to Brunswick, GA from the Quonset Point Naval Station in Rhode Island. They had lived in Brunswick, GA for only 11 days. Jerry Austin is still living to this day.

In 1963, Aldene was confronted by Frank DeCorleto, Jr, whom she had dated in January, 1961 (could he be my biological dad ? ) ...

Frank was visiting up and down the East Coast, and had heard his girlfriend, Aldene, had moved from Casselberry, FL to Brunswick, GA (with her new husband). So he drove to Brunswick, GA, and it being the small town that it was, stopped to ask if anyone knew where Aldene Austin was living. Someone in the crowd pointed to where the trailer park she lived in was. He went to her trailer, got her to come outside, and spoke with her (with a picnic table between her and him). As time went on, her little dog sensed something wierd about Frank, and started knibbling him on his fingers. Frank thought the dog was biting him, so he picked the dog up off the picnic table, and put one of the dog's paws in his mouth, and bit the dog's paw. Aldene, seeing that, said, "Stop that ! You're crazy." Thinking she was being serious (by calling him "crazy,") Frank pushed himself away from the picnic table, took the pistol out of his pocket, and shot her in the back. This knocked Mom to the ground. As she was struggling to get up, and get herself into her trailer for protection ... Frank walked over to his truck, pulled his rifle out of the back window ... walked back over to where my Mom was on the ground, and shot her again in the back, and her head.

Not knowing which way to go, Frank pulled a quarter out of his pocket. "Heads, I drive north ... Tails, I drive south." He flipped the quarter, and it landed "Heads."

Frank was caught 70 miles north of Brunswick, and sentenced to life in jail in Brunswick, GA.

After his reprieve (for people who are sentenced "to Life in prison," half way through the sentence, they are allowed to leave prison for 6 months), but at the end of the 6 months - Frank decided not to return to Georgia to finish his Life sentence. The State of Georgia decided not to pursue him (to make sure he finished his prison sentence - due to over-crowding of Georgia's prison system).

Three years later (1974), Frank married again, and they had a son - naming him Frank DeCorleto, III.

In 1978, while in his apartment, he was confronted by Connecticut police for the "disappearance of his wife and son," ... not wanting to have to deal with the issue of why his wife and son had been shot ... Frank committed suicide - in 1978.

Thus, the end of this murderous saga.
