GENTRY -- Edwin Frederick Schwerin, 82, of Gentry died Oct. 7, 2008, at Quail Ridge Living Center in West Siloam Springs, Okla. He was born May 8, 1926, in Mediapolis, Iowa, to Henry Herman and Marie Louise Mochle Schwerin.

He was a 1943 graduate of Mediapolis High School and an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a farmer and a Presbyterian. He married Mary Esther Sutcliffe on Oct. 24, 1947.

He was preceded in death by a son, Randall Schwerin.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Esther Schwerin; three sons, Dennis Schwerin and wife Marlene, Daryl Schwerin, Kerry Schwerin and wife Jacquelyn, all of Gentry; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church in Siloam Springs with the Rev. Breck Castelman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
