Our beloved father, age 90, passed away quietly on October 7, 2008 in Orem, Utah.


He was born on September 2, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Walne Molyneux Alston and Auguste Sophie Rohlfing Alston. He graduated from South High School where he won the state high school intramural debate tournament. He then attended LDS Business College and later graduated from the University of Utah in 1935. He attended law school at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and the University of Kansas City in Missouri where he received his law degree in 1948. In the Air Corps he became one of the nations youngest non-flying lieutenant colonels reaching that rank at the age of 25. He served overseas with the Ninth Air Force. He was always very proud and honored to have served his country during World War II from 1941-1946. He married his 'Long Time Sweetheart' Cora Boman from Lewiston, Utah on December 29, 1941 in Washington, D.C. They shared 'Fifty Golden Years Together'! She passed away on June 3, 1992. He was later sealed to her in the Jordon River Temple. After his release from the military he finished up on his law degree and began practicing law in Salt Lake City in 1948 and continued in this career until his retirement in 1985. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.


Quentin is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother. His oldest sister Ramona A. Coon, age 94, still lives in Salt Lake City. He is survived by one daughter Jacqueline A. Chambers (Brian) of North Logan and one son Michael B. Alston (Pam) of Pleasant Grove. He has seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchldren with another expected in November.


Graveside Services will be held on Monday, October 13, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive in East Millcreek. A viewing will be held from 1:30-2:15 just prior to the services.
