GEOFFERY "JEFF," 50, of Gulfport, died Monday (Aug. 13, 2001) at home. Born in Columbus, Ohio, he came here in January from San Francisco. He formerly owned a video company and set up video displays and satellite broadcasts of concerts by Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, Elton John and David Bowie. He also played bass guitar for bands in Boston and San Francisco. Survivors include his wife, Elena, San Francisco; his mother, Georgia Schmelzer, Grove City, Ohio; two sisters, Ivy Wood, Hot Springs, Ark., and Cathy Schmelzer, Grove City; and two brothers, Robert and Bart, both of Columbus. Gulfport Memorial Funeral Home.
