Sarah J Heath and Leonard Bidwell married 18 Sept 1860 in Madison Co Ohio where both of their families lived but moved to Holton, Jackson Co. KS. After the death of her husband, Sarah (Heath) Bidwell went to live with her grown son Delbert Bidwell in Leavenworth, Kansas but by 1920 was living in the Jackson Alms House at age 82. Sarah J. Heath was the daughter of Jonas Heath b. 1772 VA and his wife Matilda Cummins. Their children were:

Delbert Bidwell born 27 Jan 1874 died 12 Dec 1939. Married twice. 1st married Della Unknown b. 11 Apr 1879 died 7 March 1899 who is buried in Ontario Cemetery, Nemaha Co Ks. He married next Hattie Jane Satterfield and both were buried in Blue Rapid, Marshall Co KS. He worked for the railroad. They had: Mabel Bidwell, Daisy Bidwell, Goldie Bidwell.

Peachy Bidwell born 28 July 1876 died 1948 married Otis Lasswell of Emmett, KS b. 1874 d. 1952 and had Harold Lasswell, Mabel Lasswell, Grace Lasswell, Geraldine Lasswell, Leon Lasswell, Otis Lasswell Jr

Elmer Bidwell born 25 Sept 1878 married 16 Sept 1903 Caroline Estelle Jenkins b. 8 Aug 1871 PA. Caroline had married first 29 Nov 1893, Alva Addison Bidwell and had two children. Elmer Bidwell and Caroline lived in North Kansas City MO. and had additional children together.

*John Brough Bidwell walked away from home when a young man and never heard from afterwards. He is believed to be the John Bidwell mining in Elizabethtown NM, Taos, Twining, NM involved in some court disputes there including the shooting in 1914 of his mining partner William Fraser. Said to have died in New Mexico after having an illegitimate son in 1915 with a married Spanish woman in Taos, NM. He did not raise the child.

Sarah Jane Heath was born in Madison county, Ohio, Dec. 28, 1837. There she grew to womanhood and on Sept. 18, 1860, she was united in marriage to Leonard Bidwell of Madison county. They continued to reside in that county until 1867, when they moved to Atchison county, Kansas. They lived in Atchison county until 1885, then located in Jackson county. To this union were born seven children, two dying when small. ... dear husband and father departed this life on Feb. 9, 1898. A host of friends, twenty grandchildren are left to mourn her loss. The sons, A. G. Bidwell, of Holton; Delbert Bidwell, of Goff; Elmer Bidwell, of Kansas City, Mo., and John B. Bidwell, whose whereabouts are unknown. The one daughter, Mrs. Otis Lasswell, resides near Emmett. At a very early age, Mrs. Bidwell was converted and joined the Methodist church ... end of her time, which came peacefully June 5, 1921, at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 8 days ... Six grandchildren made up the group of pall bearers, Chester Bidwell, Marvin Bidwell, Arch Bidwell, Leon Lasswell, Harold Lasswell, and George Cole. Burial was made in the Holton cemetery.
