EPWORTH, Iowa -- Eleanor (Julie) Urbain, 77, of Epworth, died suddenly at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Epworth, with the Rev. Dennis Cain officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Epworth. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Epworth, where there will be a prayer service at 4:30 p.m.

Mrs. Urbain was employed at the Divine Word Seminary for 30 years.

She was born on Feb. 23, 1931, in Fillmore, daughter of Joseph and Grace (Callahan) Horsfield. She is a graduate of St. Martin's in Cascade. She married Clarence Urbain on May 17, 1951, at St. John's Catholic Church in Placid.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Parish in Epworth, and its Altar and Rosary Society.

Eleanor was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She especially enjoyed all those who came to sit and visit with her on her carport swing.

Surviving are her husband, Clarence, of Epworth; two daughters, Grace (Charles) Smith, of Des Moines, and Brenda (Nigel) Alexander, of Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren, Bill Urbain, Stefanie (Greg) Meinhardt, Bob Urbain, Kelsey Smith, Mitchell Urbain and Jordan Alexander; four sisters, Mae (Vernon) Becker, of Worthington, Evadeen (Al) Strang, of Cascade, and Larita (Butch) Kurt and JoAnn Horsfield, both of Monticello; and a brother, Dan (Colleen) Horsfield, of Cascade.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David W. Urbain, on Sept. 17, 2000; a brother, William Horsfield; and a sister, Mary Agnes Horsfield.
