Pearl G. "Nana" Mason, age 83, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at Swan Pointe Care Center in Maumee, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family. Born July 12, 1924, in the Parish of Inkberrow, Feckenham, England to George and May (Lowe) Scarrott.
Mrs. Mason was a member of Glendale Presbyterian Church for 50 years and taught Sunday School. She was known for her spunky, feisty personality, and English humor. Pearl enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, knitting, reading, listening to books on tape, taking walks and a good cup of tea.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years Ronald Mason whom she married July 28, 1947 both having immigrated to this country in 1955 and became US Citizens in 1981, daughter Avril (Randy) Mussehl and son Grant (Bonnie) Mason, grandchildren Megan Mussehl and Derek and Monica Mason. Sisters, Doreen (Donald) Browne of Oberlin, OH, Muriel (Clay) Walker of Escondido, CA, brother-in-law Herbert Billington of Toledo, also surviving are 11 half brothers and sisters in England and her faithful walking companion, Thunder.
Pearl was preceded in death by both of her parents; brothers, George and Alfred Scarrott, and sisters, Phyllis Vick and Joan Billington.
A private graveside service will be held at Springfield Township Cemetery in Holland, Ohio followed by a memorial service at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Glendale Presbyterian Church, 4609 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Glendale Presbyterian Church.
