Mrs. Lovins died 12:34 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at her daughter's home in Raymore, Mo. She was born Aug. 15, 1917, in Elijah, Mo., to Willis and Lena Westmoreland Griffin.
She was married at West Plains, Mo., to Lonnie Lovins who preceded her in death.
On April 28, 1939, Janella graduated from Gertrude Beauty School of Springfield, Mo., and has owned and operated Janella's Beauty Nook in West Plains for over 69 years. She trained and mentored many beautician apprentices and had been a help and encouragement to many. Also, Janella treated her patrons to "Queen for a Day" on their 90th birthday. She was West Plains' only distributor of Merle Norman Cosmetics for over forty years. Janella was a member of the National Hair Dressers Association, a member of the Business and Professional Women's Association for over 40 years and was a Honorary member for life of the West Plains Area Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the Curry Street Church of Christ.
She is survived by three daughters, Betty Yoder, Ann McClintock, husband, Tony, and Debbie Simmons, husband, Robert; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her parents; husband; one child, Clifford Kentner; one grandchild, Vince Kentner; one sister, Wanda Finley; and one brother, Gene Griffin, precede her in death.
Visitation will be from noon until service time at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Riverways Hospice and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
