BETTY ANN BURKHEAD A lifetime resident of Alameda County, she passed on peacefully Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at age 88. Born in Tulare, CA, on June 30, 1915, she is survived by her sister, Agnes Doyle Bounds; son, James H. Wakeman; daughter, Barbara Ann DeMotto; grandsons, Jeffrey and Matthew Wakeman; daughter-in-law, Mollie Wakeman and son-in-law, Malcolm DeMotto. She worked as a payroll supervisor at Oakland Army Base and Parks Air Force Base and was a Tupperware Sales Representative. As a member of the San Leandro Garden Club for many years, where she served as treasurer, she was able to share her love of flowers and plants. She enjoyed playing Bingo, both ballroom and square dancing and especially working her daily crossword puzzles. Private interment will be held at Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette. A Memorial to celebrate her life will be held later this month; friends and family will be notified. Machado's HILLSIDE CHAPEL 510-537-6600.
