James Millard Jeffcoat, 98, died at 7 a.m. today at his home, 712 Howard, Palestine, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bailey Funeral Chapel with the Rev. T. A. Dennis officiating, and burial in Pleasant Springs Cemetery. Native of Alabama, Mr. Jeffcoat had been a dairyman and farmer in this vicinity for about fifty years. He is survived by five sons, Elmer Vernon, Asa Oliver, Ray, and Jesse Jeffcoat, all of Palestine, and Allen Jeffcoat of Temple; five daughters, Mrs. J.C. (Carrie Clyde) Missildine and Mrs. Ida Smith of Palestine, Mrs. May Smith of Huntsville, and Mrs. Lillian Johnson and Mrs Nettie Darby of New Summerfield; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives.
