Mansfield, Ruth W. of Tellico Village Community, Loudon, Tennessee formerly of Waterford, Michigan passed away Sunday, February 9, 2003 at her home with her family after a long illness. Born in Crowell, Texas March 3, 1919. After her parents died she was adopted by her aunt and uncle, Delbert and Gay Owens. She worked at the Pontiac Letter Shop in early life and went to work at Pontiac Motor during World War II. She later went to work for Oakland County as a secretary to the county accountant. She married Arthur Mansfield and they purchased The Pontiac Letter Shop where they had met. They established Gayanne's Floral Concepts, a floral shop in Waterford, Michigan for their daughter, Gayanne. Much of their life was spent in active work with the Elks Lodge of Pontiac - Waterford. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Pontiac, Michigan. Preceded in death by parents, Delbert and Gay Owens; sister, Marie Lawler. Ruth is survived by her husband of 56 years, Arthur M. Mansfield of Tellico Village, Tennessee formerly of Waterford; daughter, Gayanne and husband, three grandchildren, one great grandson, and the family dog, Buddy.
