James Dee Bennett Sr.
JOHNSONVILLE | James Dee Bennett Sr., 63, husband of Jeanette Taylor Bennett, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2006 at McLeod Hospital in Florence.
Mr. Bennett was born Oct. 5, 1937 in Screven, Ga., son of Rhudolph Bennett and Ruth Martin Bennett. He was a retired clerk from the CSX Railroad and a member of the Railroad Union. Mr. Bennett was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of Johnsonville and his mother of Screven, Ga., are a son, James Dee Bennett Jr. of Johnsonville; a daughter, Jamie B. Gibson and her husband, Tim, of Richmond Hill, Ga.; four sisters, Elise Johnson of Jasper, Ga., Patricia Bennett, Gloria Ellis and her husband, Eddie, and Mary Ann Bunch and her husband, Franklin, all of Screven, Ga.; and five grandchildren, Heather (Ray) Stevens, Trey Gibson, Jarrett Gibson, Jonathan Gibson and Taylor Bennett.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2006 in the Hemingway Chapel. Burial will follow in the Lake Chapel Cemetery, directed by Hemingway Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
