"Joseph Vent Askew was son of Silas Askew (abt 1831- abt 1894) . Silas married Mary Elizabeth Ellen (Edwards) Askew (abt 1857-Aug 11, 1931), married Dec 22, 1881 in Beaverdam, Hanover co, VA. She is buried in Shiloh Cem, Beaverdam, Hanover co, VA. , Silas also married Eliza (Mills) , date unknown. It is not know for sure which woman is Joseph's mother, but it is thought Mary Elizabeth is his mother.
