Josephine Betty Daniels died at her home in Newport, NH on December 23, 2003 after a period of failing health. She was born in Claremont on August 26, 1924; the daughter of Eugene and Gladys (Vadney) Fleury.
She had been a lifetime resident of Claremont and Newport areas. She loved flowers and line dancing which she taught at the Newport Senior Center. In 1999, she was named Volunteer of the Year by the Senior Center.
She married Alfred Joseph Daniels on April 24, 1943 in Claremont who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by son Roland in 1943, four brothers Eugene M "Sonny" Fleury, Charles Fleury, Kenneth Fleury, and Arthur Fleury who died on December 15, 2003.
Surviving are two daughters Beverly Sucharzewski of Newport, NH and Joann Dutra of Deltona, FL; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one brother Richard Fleury of Rochester, NH; and three sisters Arlene Denis of Claremont, Mildred Willette of Keene, NH, and Patricia Dana of Weathersfield, VT..
Burial is in St Mary's Cemetery.
