Ann was the only child of Thomas Truxton Dodd and his wife Ellen Eliza (Krone) Dodd. She moved with her parents in 1886 at the age of 14 to Jefferson City, Missouri.

Anne married George Dorris June 20, 1894 in Cole Co., Missouri.

Jefferson City News and Tribune (MO) – April 30, 1950:

Mrs. George M. Dorris, 77, 1119 East McCarty, died yesterday morning at St. Mary's hospital after short illness. She had suffered a heart attack at her home Tuesday night.

The daughter of Capt. Thomas Truxton Dodd and Ellen Eliza Krone Dodd, she was born on Dodd island in Osage county, Oct. 18, 1872. She moved to Jefferson City with her parents when a young girl and had been a resident here since.

She married George McDaniel Dorris on June 20, 1894. He died two years ago.

Mrs. Dorris is survived by two children, Dr. Richard P. Dorris, and Mrs. William J. Schulten and a granddaughter, Paulla Gretchen Dorris, all of Jefferson City.

She was a life-long member of the Baptist church here and a member of the Wright Circle of that church. She was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Cole County Historical Society, the American War Mothers and the Daughters of American Colonists.
