The News regrets to be called upon this week to chronicle the sad death of Mrs. Lizzie Armfield Walter, the young and beautiful wife of Mrs. A. R. Walter, of Randall, North Carolina. Mrs. Walter was the daughter of Mr and Mrs. Martin H. Armfield of this place.
The remains arrived here Monday night at 7:15 train and were met at the depot by a large number of friends and conveyed to Central Methodist Church, where the body rested until Tuesday.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. H.K. Boyer on Tuesday morning. The interment was at Oakdale Cemetery.
We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the sorrowing husband, parents and other relatives. As an obituary will follow, we will not here speak of the many virtues of the deceased. She died Sunday at Randall of fever.
