Russell
--On July 23rd, 1895, Mrs. Mary Ann Russell, wife of Austen(sic) Russell of Base Line, aged 47 years, passed away. About a year and a half ago she was paralyzed in one side and has since been a severe sufferer. She had grown better, but on Sunday she was taken down again with another stroke which ended her life on Monday. She leaves a family of 7 children and her husband to mourn her loss. The oldest is 15 and the youngest 4 years old. Funeral services were held at the residence by the Rev. J.B. Wiles on Wednesday and her remains were laid to rest in the Cherokee cemetery. She since her girlhood days had been a member of the M.E. church, and died in the full faith of the gospel.
