Sarah was the daughter of John Calvin (Jack) Cantrell and Mary Ann Hawkins"Sarah Elizabeth Cantrell, born 15 Sept 1857 in Anderson Co. TX. She was recorded at home in 1860 and 1870. She married James Robert Hall 21 Feb 1878 in Hill county, TX. He was born 6 June 1854 near San Antonio, TX. His parents died before he was ten years of age and he and his siblings were reared by relatives. He moved to Richland in 1878. After the marriage, they moved to Ellis county, near Ferris. In the 1880 census they were recorded in the family home of her mother in Pct. #5, Dallas Co, TX. In 1900 the family was recorded in Ellis county and he was a farm owner. Sarah indicated that she had born nine children, seven of whom were living at that time. Six children were listed at home and the eldest son was married and recorded in the same county. Ellis county history contains a sketch of John Robert and the sketch stated they were the parents of ten children and listed their names. Three children evidently died young. Sarah died 27 April 1931 and was buried at the Bristol cemetery"
