THOMAS LEONARD O'GRADY Age 89, died May 7, 2004 of causes incident to age. Born in N.J. on Oct 6, 1914 to Charles and Estelle O'Grady, Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Charles, and his first wife Edna Green Ford O'Grady. He is survived by his wife Mary Adell O'Grady of Provo, Utah, son Thomas Jeffrey O'Grady of Fremont, stepson Stanley Ford of Lodi, stepdaughter Diane Ford Jackson of Hayward, seven other stepchildren, thirty-five grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Tom was an avid golfer, a "people person" who made friends wherever he was, a hard worker, a wonderful dancer and a skilled pianist. He enjoyed reading and loved to tell jokes. Tom was a loving husband in both of his marriages and a much loved father and grandfather. He served during World War II in England, France and Germany. Professionally, he was a contractor who built homes, office buildings and apartments. Tom was active in church and community affairs, having served as a volunteer fireman, Little League coach, in the Boys Club, and as president of the Hayward Optimist Club.
