Herman Bennett, 60, a resident of Ames for about 40 years, died at a hospital in Iowa City Sunday morning, it was learned here Monday. He had been taken to Iowa City for an operation a short time ago.
Surviving him are five sons, James, Claude, Nicholas, Donald and Everett, all of Ames; four daughters, Mrs. Clara Bennington of Des Moines, Mrs. Dorothy Miller of Ames, Mrs. Ruth Hall and Mrs. Mildred Tenent of Chicago; a brother, Guy of Talmadge, Kan. Bennett's mother lives in Abilene, Kan.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m., Tuesday from the Adams chapel. Burial will be in the Ames cemetery.
