Mrs. Julia Fry Ware died at her home in Jerseyville, Ill., after a long illness, Sunday, August 6, aged 66 years, 10 months, and 1 day. She was the youngest daughter of General Jacob Fry of Greene county, who was a general of the Illinois state militia back in the '40s, and the first colonel of the Sixty-first Illinois regiment in the war; her eldest brother, General James B. Fry, was a graduate of West Point and was provost marshal general of the United States during the war. Her brother, Captain William M. Fry, died about two weeks ago. She leaves surviving her one sister, Mrs. Sallie Hay Fry of San Francisco, and one daughter, Mrs. Emily Fry Pinkard of Kansas City, Mo. She was a cousin of Turney English of this city. Mrs. Ware will be greatly missed by a large circle of relatives and friends. She was a most charitable person, and from her ample means assisted many worthy people in Jerseyville and elsewhere.
