John L.Davis of Altoona, died at 8:30 P.M. Thursday at the Altoona Veterans Administration Hospital.
Mr. Davis was born Jan. 2, 1886, a son of Joseph W. And Sara (Good)Davis. His wife, the former Isabelle Carson, preceded him in death.
He leaves one son , John E.Davis of Altoona; one step-daughter, Mrs. S.S.Rossitto of San Diego,Calif., two grandchildren, and these brothers and sisters; Mrs. Carrie Bell, Mrs. Helen Wheldon, Mrs. Orpha Rothrock and Charles E. Davis of Altoona, Mrs. Pearline Nace and Mrs. Elvia Fols of Atlantic City, N. J. , and Mrs. Irene Love of Somerdale, N. J.
Mr. Davis retired Feb. 6, 1938, as a chief petty officer CSPM-PA, from the navy after 30 years service.
Friends will be received at the Books funeral home.

DAVIS - Funeral services for John L. Davis of Altona will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Books funeral home in charge of Rev. Max Houser. Interment in Carson Valley cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.
