Blanche Clementina Peckinpaugh "Tina" Childs (64 yrs. 11 mo.) b. Dec. 20, 1857 Logan, Harrison County, Iowa. d. Nov. 29, 1922 Globe, Gila County, AZ, was the tenth of twelve children born to Elijah Ridenour Peckenpaugh and Caroline Rowe.

She married Joseph L. Childs on Aug. 4, 1878 in Harrison County, Iowa. Joseph was the son of Isaac Childs and Eliza Jane Stoner.

Her husband, Joseph, Post Master, General Store owner and Farmer after they moved to Miner County, South Dakota. Blanche was the Post Mistress of the Beaver Township, Miner County, Post Office in South Dakota.

Blanche and Joseph had 7 children:

1. Ira Bell Childs b. July 7 1879 m. Estella Gebhardt, Globe Arizona d. 1939 no children. Buried in Globe Cemetery, Globe, AZ. Occupation: Druggist. He moved to Globe. Arizona due to allergies.

2. Isaac Elijah Childs b. Feb. 11, 1881 d. Oct. 22, 1970 Coolidge, AZ m. Dora Belle "Dolly" Sayer. no children. Buried in Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, Coolidge, AZ.

3. Luella Mildred Childs b. June 17, 1882 m. A.K. Lambert "Art" born May 9, 1880 in England d. Jan. 1969 San Jose, CA. She d. Aug. 4, 1969 San Jose, CA (four children: Earl, Blanche, Darlene & Muriel). Buried in Oak Hill Memorial Cemetery, San Jose, CA.

4. Joseph R. Childs b. Sept. 29, 1886 d. in infancy. Buried in Bethel Cemetery, Logan, Harrison Co., Iowa.

5. GUY TRUMAN CHILDS b. Nov. 18, 1888 Logan, IA m. May 24, 1910 Mitchell, Davison County, SD to May Barbara Steiber, dau. of Reinhard Steiber and Caroline Reierson Houge. Occupation: Iron Ore Miner of the Massabe Range in Minnesota and lastly, Color dye operator in the Blanton Paper Mill, Grand Rapids, MN. He died May 18, 1963 in Grand Rapids, MN (five children: Esther, Evelyn, Delbert, Wilbur & Florence) buried in Itasca Calvery Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MN. (my grandparents)

6. Clifford Ernest Childs b. Feb. 26, 1890 Osage WY m. Dec. 26, 1912 Mitchell, SD to Ida Kuemmerle . He died Ap. 3, 1968 Osage, WY (four children: Joe, Audrey, Esley, & Carlos). Buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Upton, WY.

7. Florence V. Childs b. June 27, 1894 Harrison Co., IA m. Sept. 27, 1916 Tacoma, WA to Guy Gordon.(four children: Willis, Dale, Adeline & Clementine)Buried in Mountain View Memorial Park, Washington.

They had 2 homesteads near Fedora, Miner County, SD. She died eleven yrs before her husband, Joseph L. Childs who died Feb. 3, 1933 in Fedora, SD. For some unknown reason, she was staying with her son, Ira B. Childs who faithfully took care of his mother. Cause of death: pneumonia with contributory cause of Brights disease (Chronic inflammation of the blood vessels in the kidneys ). She died on Nov. 29, 1922, according to her death certificate and was buried on Dec. 4, 1922 in Globe, Arizona.
